Temple Square

Last Friday the McEuen's, Johnson's & Emmett's went to Cafe Rio for dinner then some of us took trax to Temple Square to look at the lights. Kurt & Jordan chose to drive over and met up with us later. Porter was so cute telling us Jesus was in the temple. We had a great time!

Jenn Hribar is Having a Boy...

And I got to go to her shower on Saturday. It was immeasurably fun, especially because Suzanne Merrill sat by me and did not stop talking until she had to leave. I especially enjoyed her stories about who she has been setting up and what it's like to drive when your head and your spine are fused together. Also, my sisters will appreciate that when we went around the room to say how we knew Jenn, Suzanne tried to tell a story about me and then encouraged me to tell the story even after I told her we should try to keep it focused on Jenn. All I will say about Suzanne is that every Sunday as I'm with the Laurels I feel completely inadequate because of her, and also, if she up and disappears one day it will be no surprise to anyone to find out she was translated.

Address's

I love to get Christmas cards. And well you probably do too. I am wondering if everyone can add their address's in the comments section of this post. I am a little late on getting the Crhistmas cards out, but want to make sure I get one to all of you.

Okay, so Chelsea made a good point that anyone can look at this, so maybe we could just email our address's to eachother? Are email address's okay to put in the comment section?

Rodeo Horses and Gingerbread Houses!

Honey and Papa came to Las Vegas last Wednesday. Amber, Matt, Honey, Papa, Eddie, and I went to the National Finals Rodeo on Wednesday night, it was awesome! Next year, everyone should try to go!
On Thursday night we all decorated gingerbread houses. Papa did 3 in the time it took the rest of us to do one, he even had Maggie on his lap "helping"! Captain had a great time eating all the candy off the floor, and we all went home with cute additions to our Christmas decorations!

Papa's baby

As you all know, Papa went back to school this year! Here are some pictures of some of his homework!

Honey's Baby

Honey's baby got some new accessories, and she wanted to show them off!

December Birthdays!

Many people in the family celebrate their birthdays in December. . . here is a picture of Noelle and Ben (who share the 9th as their birthday) blowing out their candles last Sunday at Ann and Scott's. Happy birthday to Chris (4th), Mike (5th), Noelle (9th), Ben (9th)!

Nuclear Baby

Yesterday we were at Ann and Scott's for dinner and Bridget walked into the family room and said to Ben, "Scott just gave Paige the ultimate insult. He said she has Shipley hair." Jason and I started laughing pretty hard but Ben obviously didn't know what that meant (and you could never really explain unless you saw Sarah Shipley's hair for yourself). So, when I came home from work today to see her in this state I had to laugh even harder. Scott used to call it "nuclear hair" but this is more like nuclear baby.

P.S. Bridget wanted to make sure I mentioned this look was a result of a nap. Also, to get the full effect of nuclear baby, you really need to click on that first picture to enlarge it.

Update From The Bergen's - Yes, We are Still Alive!

We have been very busy around here as you will see from the pictures. On Thanksgiving weekend I sat through 11 soccer games in two days! It was worth it though because Cami and Tori's teams took first in the tourney. Tori's team had been playing 2 games in Vegas on Saturdays up until that tournament and it definitely showed us how much they had improved. They didn't allow any goals in 4 games and the closest margin of victory was 3-0. Cami's team also lead most games by at least 2 points. It was really fun but we definitely missed Grandmas cooking.
Garrett played football (#5) for the first time this fall and loved it. He only played defense and as you can imagine it was pretty interesting to see a kid a foot shorter and 30 lbs. lighter make defensive tackles. He has decided he likes it better than baseball so far.
Allie has been busy teaching and playing tennis. She has started teaching private lessons for kids and is making some good money for the hours she puts in. She really likes it and her coach said she is a very good teacher and very patient with the kids.
As many of you know, we are headed off to Hawaii on Monday (don't feel sorry for us) and we are all very excited! But we will see some of you at the game if Grandpa gets tickets and more of you at Christmas. By the way, where is everyone going to stay?!?! It will be big fun I'm sure! See you soon! And I almost forgot-OUR POOL AND YARD LOOKS AWESOME-can't wait to use it!

Love, Jen

Ambers Dirty Secret

Christmas must have come early for someone this year.

If you are planning on visiting Matt and Amber this Christmas season, be aware!
You may not want to really pay attention to your surroundings as you may not like what you may find - from Thigh Highs strewn about Ambers car to Lacie Bras in the couch.
We didn't buy the excuse that the Bra was really Kate's back pack (it was big enough to fit both parker and Captain in it), or that the Fish Net was really some exotic hair tie.
We had to leave before we found the Little Black Number on the chandelier or knickers in the fridge.

You've Been Warned. Happy holidays

Smiles

I just took these pictures on Saturday and they not only showcase her new clothing size, yes she is now wearing 3-6 months, but we got a good picture of her smiling. She doesn't think the camera is particularly funny and therefore is resistant to smiling directly at it! That's okay, maybe she'll learn in a couple 4-5 years.

Frenemies

These two are like China and the USA - cautiously friendly toward each other with intermittent acts of aggression. Since Paige learned to scoot she would motor right over to Anna to steal her binky out of her mouth (even though Paige stopped taking a binky way before she learned to scoot). She would not act victorious or pleased with herself, and Anna would not cry or retaliate. Things are starting to change, however, as Anna has learned to assert herself a bit and now steals toys back from Paige, and sometimes you'll even find marks on their faces from where they have physically demonstrated their will (Anna gave Paige a good one the other day). It's hilarious to watch, and for a tiny little thing, Paige packs a mean punch. Don't let the beensy little body fool you.
