Thanks for the Coffee Table!

Bridget and Ben gave us their coffee table, I think Andrew likes it! He was kissing it earlier today!

Grandpa's "trick"

This was Grandpa's ride down the mountain after his "trick". Luckily it wasn't anything too major. Jason and I were relieved there were no snowboarders involved.

For those of you who don't read our Teeples blog, I thought I would post this here as well.

We had our annual Snowmass skiing vacation last week and it was awesome. This was Kate's second year being able to come and she absolutely LOVES to ski. She was up and ready in the morning itching to put on her boots. She would cry when we picked her up from ski school if we wouldn't take her all the way to the top of the mountain so she could ski some more. I rememer being a bratty/ungrateful child and not wanting to take any more runs...I am so glad she is my opposite in this. Jason's son Nick came this year as well as all of Jen's kids and they would all swim and hot tub after skiing every night. It was fun for her to have lots of cousins there.

I actually skiied three days this year. Because of some health problems I have stayed in the condo with Grandma for the last three years, but this year I decided to try again. I am so glad I did. I had a great time and I was so happy to be out with everyone on the slopes. It was also a good thing I skiied, since Grandma wasn't feeling well and didn't make the trip. We missed her. Me especially since I usually get one on one Grandma time in the condo (We watch the dog show together every year).

Grandpa decided to do some tricks/head dive on Friday and cracked or brusied his rib (the doctor couldn't tell from the x-ray). I wasn't skiing that day so I got to pick him up from the clinic and spend some time with him (I made him watch Nascar qulaifying, he didn't even complain). We are grateful that his injury wasn't worse.

We had wonderful lunches and dinners all week at some of our favorite haunts in Aspen and Snowmass. It was great to spend time with family and to do something that eveyone enjoys (eating and skiing). I can't think of a better vacation and I am so thankful to be in the family I am in and have such wonderful grandparents. They are truly the best. Sorry to those family members who couldn't make it. It was a great week.

I also need to mention that Papa gave up his week of skiing to come and watch Parker and Maggie. It was so nice of him. And nice for Matt and I to know that they were being well taken care of. Thanks to him for making our vacation that much better. We love you.

self feeding

Hallie had her first taste of rice cereal last night and she did a pretty good job! She hardly spit any out even though I could tell by her facial expression that she wasn't so sure she liked it. I think she mostly just liked the spoon, whatever, it worked!

You have to love the Navy

Oh, so that's what you're doing while you're gone for two weeks!! Forget dentistry. So glad that the navy sent cute little cheerleaders to his ship for the superbowl! Of course, Greg insisted he was mostly just in the picture for his buddy who was excited all day about meeting them. He's such a giver~

I hope everyone who went to aspen had so much fun! Know that I was thinking of you... while jealous, I truly didn't wish for any broken bones. I just updated my blog, check it out. Miss you all!!

Kickin' Aspen

Happy Valentines Day!!!
The 08 Miller Family Aspen trip has been a blast. We only wish everyone could have made it. We've had snow and sun. Amber and Kathy have been able to ski. Jason has been sick with a cold/flu bug. Tori's snowboarding lessons looked like an expensive date. The Aspen branch had double attendance with us there on Sunday. It was windy yesterday and the snow was blown to the bottom of the hills. We woke up to around 4-5" of new snow this morning. The great grandkids will be racing this afternoon. The grandkids saw Fool's Gold last night. Matt's bare chest was gorgeous as ever and that's about as good as it got.
Also, happy 5th anniversary to Marci & Morgan!!!

Jack says bring it on

Weekend storm dumps chest deep snow in the backyard? No problem, says Jack, I'll just eat my way out.
Snowbanks next the sidewalk make Jack look like he's about to get swallowed up in a double overhead wave.

President Hinckley's Funeral

Gordon B. Hinckley, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints passed away January 27th, 2008. His funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2nd. Jason, Nick and I were able to attend with my mom and some friends. The services were beautiful and there was not a dry eye to be found in the conference center.
The new church president is Thomas S. Monson with counselors Henry B. Erying & Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

Save the Date

We will be celebrating Paige's 1st birthday and have a going away dinner for Ben on Sunday, February 17th at the Heber House. Invitations will be in your mailbox soon :)

Family Furniture Giveaway

As we get ready to move, Ben and I have decided not to store all the hand me down furniture we've collected over the years. We plan to sell it or give it to a worthy cause in some cases, but before we do that we wanted to give everyone in the family the opportunity to either reclaim something they gave us, or take something they want that someone else in the family gave us. So, let us know this week if there is something you want, before it's gone!
