Ruben asked me to post these pictures of the new truck they bought for Kathy. It's a 1939 Studebaker, and if you want any more technical information than that- you'll have to call Ruben. I can say, that I think this would be waaaaay to much truck for me- but it's totally cool looking!! Enjoy!

Funk Family Reunion
Here's our lovely group! Visiting and mingling...
Grandpa's cousin, Jack- who was grandpa's best friend growing up, and Bonnie, Jack's wife- who I found out was a good friend of grandma's when she was young too- they double dated as youth! Isn't that neat- 2 good friends married 2 good friends and became family.
The eldest members of the Funk family who were able to attend.
Funk- as in great-grandma Anna Funk (grandpa Miller's mother), not Funk as in Funky music or the like. We went to Burley with my Mom and Dad, and Grandma & Grandpa Miller to attend the reunion on Saturday, July 21st. We (including Grandma) knew practically no one, but it ended up being a really nice time anyway as people were friendly and we had the run of this really beautiful- might-as-well-have-been-private park. Porter made a little friend and they spent all day following one another around exploring and playing. Seth sat on his blanket like an angel and let me run around without complaining at me ONE time!! Remarkable!! It was also a really nice cool afternoon where we were- so it was a perfect day to be outside enjoying new acquaintances. The food was also great- that counts for at least HALF of ones ability to have a good time- so we did.

Sunday, July 29th right after Sacrament Meeting: Brunch at Quent and Anna Bates. From our chapel, turn right onto Center Street, left onto University Ave, then left again at 800 N (this it the light at the mouth of the Canyon). Head to 800 East and turn right, then go left on 1200 North, then turn right on 660 East into community. It's an Ivory Home Development called DaVinci Place. Once in the community, turn right, head down the street and and it's the home on the corner lot on the righthand side of the street at the curve.

'ello
As you all know I do not have any kids to post photos of but rather a sweet little kitten. This is my cat Kobra who is about 5 years old and was rescued from a local Warsaw shelter. He keeps us busy enough as you can see from this photo here. He is going to spend the week at grandma's house because Agnieszka and I are going to the Polish Tatra Mountains for vacation. I will post some photos when we get back and let you all in on how life "behind the iron curtain" really is! ;)

I figured you can never have too many pictures from the river. Here are the babies playing with their cups.

Teeples 4th of July
Here are some pictures of our 4th of July celebration, etc. Obviously Matt and Captain were very entertained by the slip and slide. We managed to have a good time even in the 115 degree heat. Maggie is now sitting up (and army crawling) really well and loves to take baths in the kitchen sink. Kate had her first swim meet and placed 4th, 6th and 7th, out of about 20 kids, in freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke respectively. This is my first addtion to the blog, so I hope it goes up correctly.
I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I personally like the idea of Noelle and Marci making all the posts. Neither of them have anything other to do anyway.
Authors Wanted
Some of you will see that I sent an invitation to you to be an author on the blog so that you can post your own stuff. When I started this thing I didn't realize that people would get this into it (and I'm so glad that you all did) but now you won't have to send your stuff to me or Marci. If you would like to be an author or haven't received your invitation, let me know.
We're off to the river for two weeks and I am so excited! It will be Anna's first time and Steve isn't coming. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up down there at some point - we can all only imagine how much he is going to miss her.
She is currently on the couch fake crying and has lots of new tricks besides that one. She's a thumbsucker for sure, and can get up onto her side now so rollover is imminent. She also got a Bumbo seat today and she can sit in it for a few minutes but then her head gets too tired and falls backward. This is pretty funny but I felt like a mean parent when I laughed hysterically at her in that position the first time.
I wont be posting while we are gone, but hopefully some of our new authors will! If you need some instructions on how to post, let me know.

River 2007
What a great river trip we had this year! Despite having to share limited bedrooms with 6 small children and fighting over putting on life jackets- well, with Porter anyway- it was almost a perfect week. Everyone was safe, happy- and some of us got our first real tan in maybe a decade- so that made it WONDERFUL!! Of course we didn't realize until the end of the week that fate actually had it in for us, but hey- ignorance is bliss! Yes, so as far as our river portion of the vacation went- it was lovely- had it ended there, it would've been really nice- but it didn't. We were scheduled to stay through Sunday June, 17th, but on Friday morning we got the horribly sad news that our Grandma McEuen had passed away. So that sort of threw everyone out of the partying mood. So that was not the most ideal ending to a nice vacation- nor were the 6 insurance claims that were racked up in the next few days, but hey, that's the way it goes. Luckily, no one (well, Ollie was looking a little worse for wear...) was seriously injured, and that is always a blessing!!! Better luck next year, eh?
Paige is Official
We are excited that Paige has finally been blessed (especially because she is 4 months old!). Thank you to all the family that could make it; we appreciate you being there for this special day. Thank you especially to all those who helped with the food, setup, and cleanup of lunch! Also, Paige is honored to share her blessing day with Grandma and Grandpa's 58th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary!!
Paige has changed a lot over the last 3 weeks. She smiles a lot now, likes to talk, hoots like an owl, grabs her feet, makes Indian war noises (as Ben calls them) when you repeatedly pat her mouth, she rolled over for the first and only time so far last week, grabs toys and immediately puts them in her mouth, and she laughs more often, especially when you nibble on her neck or the the back of her arms. At her four month check-up this week she weighed 12 1/2 lbs and measured 25 inches long. We can't believe she is growing up so fast AND we think she is wonderful!
Love,
Bridget
