I got this update for the blog from mom today:
"The flu is still raging at our house, Ruben is taking amazingly good care of me and may be feeling not so well himself (he won't admit that). I went to the orthopedist this morning. We are waiting three more weeks to see how my arm does. Since I am not a famous guarterback or pitcher a MRI is not needed. He is a great guy, even made my appointment Sun when ruben called him at home. I told him I really want to go skiing again next week and he gave me a list of three things I need to be able to do with my arm and then I will be able to go. I am practicing those three things!
If anyone in the family or friends can think of a way to keep snowboarders away from me I would like to hear it! I'm thinking of reverse phsychology, maybe wearing a target or something.
Love, Kathy"

Crawling, teething, standing, and walking (sort of)
Anna has hit all kinds of milestones in the past two weeks. It started with two new teeth (and two more making their fussy way), next was crawling, and now standing and holding on while walking around. She also is a good little walker if you support her - in fact if you try to put her on the floor to crawl she walks while you've got a hand on her and then quickly falls to the ground. Hopefully you can see the teeth in the first picture!
Also, she's pretty much grown out of her 12 month stuff. And the 12-18 month stuff is so long on her arms - her sleeves look ridiculous rolled up four times each. She thanks for you for the flippers, Honey.

senior citizen trip to snowmass

I received the following report on the Aspen trip by our senior members of the family. I didn't mean they are ALL senior citizens, although they are certainly getting closer :).
"hi, just to let you know how our (owner's trip) went. grandpa, grandma, ann, kathy, and rub. we drove on monday. tuesday went very well. wenesday was also a fun ski run. it is quite different when only four (4) people ski. not a lot of down time, only fun runs. thursdaay was the best day of skiing that i have ever had. all great runs, groomed and fast. the food line is also faster. thursday was not a good day. it snowed most of the night and the snow was clumped up. you could not tell that it had been groomed. then just before lunch some *#!king dirt bag snow boarder hit honey from behind and knocked her down. she had to be taken the the medical clinic by snowmobile, she did not want to ride the toboggan. she was x-rayed on her right shoulder. no breaks, lots of pain. her rotator is bruised or out of whack. i'll take her to our orthopedic surgeon here in st. george for more tests and will let you know what is going on. the patrol told me that if you are run into by anyone you should hold them until they can get there so they can make out a report. if you run into anyone you are liable for injuries that happen. this dirt bag was a foreigner and was not held. to make it worse she was a bi#&%. she is lucky that i did not see it happen, all of us were in front of kathy when it happened. you can condense this if you like.
later, rub"

Utah Fun
I just posted a bunch of pictures on my blog and am tired, but wanted to put some on here too! Hallie's blessing was really nice and we had so much fun while in Utah! Flying alone with three little ones across the country: much easier on the way there than on the way home. Luckily the ride home is faster; thank heaven there was a strong tailwind pushing us home!
Happy Birthday to Porter!
Porter turned 3 this week! I can't believe how much he's grown in what seems like a very short period of time. I don't like it one bit as a matter of fact.... Be that as it may- we had a little party for Porter at grandma's house on Saturday so that Emily and her kids could be here for it. Then on Monday, Morgan and I took the kids bowling for his official birthday- you've gotta love the good old (practically unchanged) Holiday Lanes bowling alley here in Heber. They still have the best burgers and fries around though- so we love it!!! The only thing that's changed is the up-to-date computer monitors for score-keeping (rather than the paper & pencils) and, well- the new jukebox. Apart from that I'm pretty sure if you walked back in time 25 years (probably more- I can't say for sure...) you would walk into the exact same place. It's really refreshing actually.
Christmas 2007- Too Late? Oh, Well...

I know this is a little delayed- but I make no excuses- I just hadn't gotten around to it until now... It was a fun and ridiculously fast holiday season this year. I can't believe that we've already made it to the end of January and we just finished celebrating Porters 3rd Birthday!!! So I guess Christmas cannot be put off any longer- here you go!

Lacks Focus
Parker's conference went something like this. Parker sat between his dad and I, had his hands in his mouth the entire time and talked in baby talk, when he was willing to answer a question. His dad flicked him on the head once, just so he would respond to what his teacher was saying. This is what his teacher had to say, Parker is very bright, is doing well in all his schoolwork, BUT he can be very disruptive and he often lacks focus. This was not news to us, since we have raised him and well it kind of runs in the family and he was displaying those qualities right then and there.
Sometimes he is such a pill I just have to laugh. Like this morning when he asked me why his dad had to change all of Margaret's diapers and why Dad always does the laundry. Both of which are about the most innacurate statements ever made.
By the way, Kate's conference was great. Although we were told that she tends to lack focus as well. Like I said, it runs in the family.
