Did anyone remember Chelsea's Birthday?
I don't see any mention of it on the blog...but well Chelsea had a birthday last week...and the louse sister that I am I never even said HAPPY BIRTHDAY? How old are you? Did you do anything fun? I hope everyone else was better at wishing you a Happy Birthday than I was. Sorry about that. We love you though.

Big Lies and the Liars Who Tell Them
People have been lying to me today.
First big lie: Anna was supposed to have her four month checkup at 3 pm today so Steve and I planned our day around making sure we could both be there (mostly, we're both excited to see how much she weighs). Bridget left at 2:30 and I rush to try and get everything done with work so I don't have to worry if the wait is a little long. I pump a bottle, pack the diaper bag, and keep Anna awake only to get there and find out the doctor had some emergency he had to attend to. The receptionist says in this exasperated voice, "We've been calling and calling you to tell you..." and then informs me we can wait to see the PA but it's going to be at least an hour or more before she will get to us. I ask her what number she's been calling and she reads off my cell phone number, so I pull out my phone, show her my call list and say, "That's so weird because I don't have any missed calls and no calls from this office today at all." She couldn't look me in the eye while I rescheduled our appointment.
I have to admit though that mostly we didn't want to wait because there was a family of wild kids in the waiting room who were all running around without shirts or shoes on. If I want to see neglected children I'll go to Wal-Mart.
Second big lie: I am in line waiting to pick up lunch for me and Bridget and I get to talking about babies with the girl standing next to me (sidenote: isn't it so weird how women who would probably never otherwise talk to you all the sudden become your best friend just because you've both had a baby?). Anyway, we got on the subject of losing baby weight and I told her I haven't lost a pound since two weeks after Anna was born. She says to me with the self-assurance of Margaret Thatcher, "Oh, if you had breastfed it would have all melted off by now. I lost all the weight with both my babies in just a few weeks." I wanted to punch her lights out. I told her I do breastfeed her, so then she just looked at me like I must have no self control.
Third big lie: Someone at church told me you love your baby the most the first few weeks after they are born. Lie! I can't get enough of this kid right now - as you can see from some pictures we took this week, I can eat baby chub every chance I get.

HE'S SO CUTE WINS AT BRISTOL
I know, not many of you care, but I had to add this to the blog. Carl won the Nextel Cup race on Saturday night....This is his second win of the season in the cup series and he is now locked into the chase.
Matt and I are pretty sure that he won because we put up the fathead of his car on our garage wall...see picture. Bridget sent that to us as a joke. We couldn't find a good place for it in the house, so in the garage it went. YAY for Carl (he's so cute)!!!
The Redcoats are Coming!
We went to London last week for another visit to the Embassy. Andrew is now officially a US citizen, and his passport should arrive next week or the week after, so we are all set to get on the plane on September 15, well, all set, except for the packing! Eddie is almost completely recovered. He saw a nose specialist on Friday, and the doctor said everything was ok, and there was no additional damage! We didn't get very many pictures while we were in London, cause you can't take cameras in the Embassy! Andrew is getting big, his first birthday is on Wednesday!
We can't wait to see all of you!
Love,
Chelsea

He's So Cute Finishes 7th at Michigan
After being fastest in practice and Happy Hour (which is the last practice before the race) He's So Cute and I are a little disappointed in a 7th place finish. The race was rained out on Sunday and Monday and the track conditions change quite a bit with rain. The race ran this morning. Carl was in 3rd place at one point in the race but just couldn't keep his car there. 7th is alright. He didn't move up or down any positions for the Chase and at this point only wins will make a difference with his standings when the Chase (the final ten races of the season) starts. GO EDWARDS!!!

Janie and Crack. I mean Jack.
This store is addictive. I just bought a bunch of stuff online and then was immediately furious that they don't have a physical location in Utah, so I just sent an email to the corporate headquarters scolding them for their oversight. I even filled it with stats and figures to explain the business case for it (i.e. "Utah has 50 percent more children per adult than the national average"). I seriously do not get companies of this nature who open a zillion stores elsewhere before Utah. To make matters worse, the CEO went to BYU!!! Traitor!!!

Heber Fun
Here's a few less depressing photos. Jack and I attended our first Father & Sons. It was on some of our Bishop's property down along the Provo River. Jack loved the dutch oven dinner and homemade root beer and sat and played with his frisbees while watching us play football.

Eddie vs. The Park Thugs
Okay, so I don't know if they were gangsters or what, because all I've gotten were these two text messages:
Text from Chelsea #1) "Eddie was attacked. We are in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor. Please pray for him. I'll text when we know more. He should be okay."
I replied: "What do you mean? Like by gang members or something? That is horrible. Please call someone and fill them in so we know what is going on!"
Text from Chelsea #2) "By teeangers in the park. During his brother's mission leaving party. He was trying to get them to go away."
I replied: "He was trying to get them to leave the park? Did anyone help him? Did they catch any of the guys who did it? What kind of injuries does he have? I just called Amber and we are all very concerned."
I did not hear back, and by some miraculous twist of fate I heard about this before Amber. Based on past history I figured Sargeant Cahow would be on the phone with Scotland Yard so I was disappointed. I think Chelsea may have tried to call me this morning but I obviously didn't pick up and she didn't leave a message or I would know more. I got these pictures in an email this morning yet there was absolutely no detail...no, not one word.
Maybe we can get her to comment here and tell us what happened, or someone else who has talked to her can.
There's an opening for White House press secretary and I don't think Chelsea will be filling it based on her ability to disseminate the information people seek. Come in Chelsea! We await more news!!!

So You Think You Can Dress?
Cat Deeley, host of So You Think You Can Dance, stole the show and saved the worst for last night with the abomination...I mean, dress...that she wore on the finale of So You Think You Can Dance. I am so sad it's over for the year, but at least my eyes will stop bleeding from having to look at her hideous outfits each week. Oh, I almost forgot, a girl from Roy, Utah named Sabra won the competition and deservedly so. I scoured the internet to try and find a picture of Cat's dress but could not, so the winner's picture is up instead.

I Don't Think I Can Dance
Is anyone else obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance? I know Amber is a SYTYCD lover, and if anyone else loves too it we need to proceed to have a conversation about it. We will know in a mere few hours, but I honestly can't tell you who the final four will be. I do think Sabra and Lacey will make it (why does the only Mormon girl on the show have to come across as a tramp? Why?), but it seems totally up in the air for the boys. Also, does anyone else agree that Benji's wholesomeness/nerdiness/Mormoness is what propelled him to win it last year? And then he let it go to his head and this year we are confronted with this quasi self-congratulatory poser who seems like a complete tool? It's sad really. Sad.
I am really looking forward to tonight...tools, tramps, and all.
P.S. I will just make it public now...I like to fancy myself as an educated critical thinker and somewhat refined in my tastes, however, it appears I am actually some sort of reality TV junkie. I take solace in the fact that I hate American Idol. That doesn't, however, make up for the fact that I love SYTYCD, Dancing with the Stars (I totally called it from the first week with Apollo and Julianne), and Skating with Celebrities. Also, Top Chef is fantastic and when is Project Runway coming back? As for non-reality TV, my favorite shows are The Closer (on TNT - it's amazing), and Brothers & Sisters. I am very upset that Veronica Mars and Arrested Development have been cancelled because those used to be two of the best shows on TV.
P.S.S. I'm now just re-reading this and I am shamed to my core.

The lovely couple
Jack and Seth thoroughly enjoyed the Crepe bar. Seth and I shared 2 at which point I put a stop to the indulging (they were soooo good!!). Grandpa McEuen made his way through the crepe line and promptly found an empty chair right next to us and Seth went CRAZY!! He thought he was going to die sitting right next to all that good food and not being given any! It was so funny- you'd think he was starved.
Here's the whole clan
Bridget, Ben & Paige (the one who's trying to get the flowers)
Noelle, Steve & baby Anna
These two were too cute together- Cami is quite the baby-helper too! She is following in Tori's footsteps that way.
