Okay, so I don't know if they were gangsters or what, because all I've gotten were these two text messages:
Text from Chelsea #1) "Eddie was attacked. We are in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor. Please pray for him. I'll text when we know more. He should be okay."
I replied: "What do you mean? Like by gang members or something? That is horrible. Please call someone and fill them in so we know what is going on!"
Text from Chelsea #2) "By teeangers in the park. During his brother's mission leaving party. He was trying to get them to go away."
I replied: "He was trying to get them to leave the park? Did anyone help him? Did they catch any of the guys who did it? What kind of injuries does he have? I just called Amber and we are all very concerned."
I did not hear back, and by some miraculous twist of fate I heard about this before Amber. Based on past history I figured Sargeant Cahow would be on the phone with Scotland Yard so I was disappointed. I think Chelsea may have tried to call me this morning but I obviously didn't pick up and she didn't leave a message or I would know more. I got these pictures in an email this morning yet there was absolutely no detail...no, not one word.
Maybe we can get her to comment here and tell us what happened, or someone else who has talked to her can.
There's an opening for White House press secretary and I don't think Chelsea will be filling it based on her ability to disseminate the information people seek. Come in Chelsea! We await more news!!!

Holy Crap Eddie! I'd hate to see the other guys.
Be thankful this happened in England and not America. You would have been stabbed or worse (especially in LA or Vegas). I am sure Henderson is just peachy but Vegas dirtbags know how to get there too...

I talked with Chelsea and all is okay. They caught two of the boys who did this and arrested them. They are out on what we would consider bail and someone akin to a DA is deciding whether to press charges or not. Eddie spent the night in the hospital and was released the next day. The doctors said that he is fine. No broken bones, etc. As far as ripping on America....well Chelsea said that Eddie was lucky sinice a man was killed by a group of teenagers in England just a couple of weeks ago.
i watched amber kick some really dirtbag teenagers out of her neighborhood a few months ago but they didn't even mouth off to her. smart kids - i wouldn't mess with her either.
We were having a party for Eddie's brother, who left on his mission today. There were a bunch of teenagers in the park and they started verbally abusing us, throwing trash in the yard, getting on the fence (we have pictures of this), and one actually came into the yard, so we called the police, and Eddie and Tim (my sister in laws husband) went into the park to keep an eye on them. Eddie and Tim knew the police were on the way, so when one of the dirtbags started to damage the fence, they tried to stop him, and this led to Eddie being beaten (punched, kicked, and bitten) by 7 or 8 people while he was on the ground. The cops showed up, and managed to get 2 of them, the paramedics came and Eddie and I went to the hospital. Thankfully Eddie doesn't have any broken bones, but he has said that his nose doesn't feel right, and since he's had it opperated on twice we're going to see a specialist on Friday.
We are all doing remarkably well, considering the circumstances. I think I'm the most scarred emotionaly! On Sunday we went into the police station for CSI to take pictures of Eddie, and to talk to the detective. The detective was very hopeful that the two main culprits will see jail time, they both have records, and he said there will be 6 more arrests, and then all the dirtbags that were involved will be charged at the same time.
so do the pickups live up against a park and the party was in their backyard or something, or were you having the party in a park? this is what confuses me. i feel so badly for eddie.
Don't get me wrong, crime is everywhere (and I like America best too), but we need to be honest about the problem to improve things. With that in mind...

The backyard is right along the park, and we can see the bandstand and play equipment from the house. We were having the party in the yard.
When we were at the police station, DC Mark Craven (detective constable) told us that there was a girl in the hospital, who had been beaten in the same fashion as Eddie, and that it didn't look like she was going to live, we don't live in a very big town! About 73,000 people, just to give you an idea, Provo has about 105,000 people!
