Electric Baby
I couldn't resist adding this to the blog. On Monday night we played outside (yes it is finally cool enough to do that) for family night. We roasted marshmallows with our white trash turkey pan fire and had foil dinners. Margaret thought it was so great her hair was standing up on end. Actually I have discovered that the trampoline is like a giant playpen and this is what happened to her hair from crawling and rolling around on it. She loved it!!!

So, Hallie is now 8 days old and I figured I should update the 'old' pictures with some new ones! My in-laws left Wednesday and things are going better than I expected.
Hallie is such a sweet baby and doesn't cry a whole lot. She is much the like the first two so far! Let's hope that doesn't change. Sleep is getting better at night. Last night she only woke up once and I was SOOO grateful.
Elena asks me from time to time- mommy where's your baby? Hallie's usually sleeping at these times, it's pretty funny. She loves preschool and her new friends and I love having a few hours with just Hallie and Oliver.
Amber, do you know of any brands that carry slim size jeans in a 2T? I am having issues finding Oliver jeans. Old Navy is big and Gymboree is huge and I haven't tried Gap. I have never had this problem before, Elena always had the opposite problem! Should I just buy him girl jeans???
love you all!

Cache
As most of you know, we got a dog (this time a keeper) last month. And as some of you have requested pictures, I am finally getting around to obliging... So here's the info. Our new puppy, Cache, is a little shih tzu. He's really cute and very likable (even for those opposed to dogs). He is just 4 pounds at present and is 16 weeks old. Porter and Seth LOVE him- but no one so much as Jack who thinks he is his personal entertainer. Anyway, he doesn't shed, doesn't bark much, and is small- therefore fitting very well into our lives. We have really enjoyed him- so here are some pictures....

One Of A Kind
So, as all of you know Parker is a pretty funny kid. And on Sunday he had a not so rare day of funny things to say. On the way to church he asks, in an exasperated voice, "Mom, is today fast or slow Sunday." I told him it was a slow Sunday, which actually most Sundays are to me, especially Fast Sunday.
So we are at church and there is a lady who is getting confirmed. Parker is closing his eyes for part of the confirmation and then I see him peek out. He watched intently for a moment and then says to me, "Mom, I don't see the Holy Ghost." I replied, "Well no buddy you can't see it." He says, "But Mom, she just got it and I didn't see it." I tried to quietly explain that we can't see the Holy Ghost because he doesn't have a body. So he made hand motions and whooshing sounds and said, "But Mom, I CANT SEE IT." I think he was expecting something like a scene from Pirates of the Carribean. It was hysterical and has made me laugh every time I think about it.

Baby Hallie
She is finally here! Weighing in at 7 lbs 8 oz and 20.5 inches long, Hallie was born at 8:15 pm on Thursday Sept. 13. She is so sweet and perfect, we couldn't be happier!
Elena is totally in awe of her new sister, telling me several times how much she loves her. Oliver looks at her and isn't quite sure what to think, he did give her a kiss before bed which was sweet.
I have hardly slept in three days, but am feeling pretty good. I am just glad that she's here and healthy and that I am at home again!

California Trip
We had such a great trip to California. Matt and I got to go to the BYU game with Grandpa, Morgan, Kurt and Jordan and we had a great time...other than the ridiculous parking. It was fun though and it was even better that the kids were home with Grandma and Emma Webster. Sunday we got to have a delicious Sunday dinner, does anyone make better dinner than Grandma? Valorie, Dave and their kids came for dinner and swimming. This was the first time Val's kids had ever been in a pool. They were adorable and so excited. Her little boy, Garrett also thought Grandma and Grandpa must have 16 bathrooms in their house and he was thrilled that everyone could go to the bathroom at the same time and not have to take turns. Their kids were really cute and very well behaved. Gabriella is in kidergarten and Garrett is in preschool. Their baby is 13 months. It was great to see them. Monday we took the kids to Disneyland. Of course it was so much fun. Margaret liked the submarine ride and loved the characters. Her new thing is pointing...and their was lots to point at at Disneyland. We managed to fit quite a bit of swimming in as well and were so grateful that Grandpa heated the pool. We went to Y'NOT before we left town on Tuesday afternoon which was a great end to our trip.
Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for not moving from lovely Southern California. It is so nice to come home.

Happy Days
Hello Family-
I just wanted to try this out before baby #3 arrives!
Elena started preschool this morning and I think it was a success. She of course had to get a runny nose for the occasion and didn't seem entirely herself this morning, but she was happy to go as evidenced by the picture of her waving goodbye to me with a big smile on her face!
Oliver and I ran errands for over two hours just because we could :)
As for my pregnancy, it is almost over! Tomorrow is my due date and my induction is set up for Wednesday at 8 am so we'll most likely be having this baby September 12th. We'll keep you posted.
Little Cougars
Rise and Shout! The mini Cougars are out!
Paige and Anna attended their first BYU football game in last week's opener against Arizona and loved it! You will note that Anna started out the day with jeans on (size 6-12 months) but the combo of the uncomfortable muffin top plus not being able to bend her legs resulted in her being stripped down to her diapers. Paige is now the proud owner of said jeans.
These are a little late but as most of you know I had surgery last week to remove a cyst in my right ovary. The surgery went well and recovery has been cake (well, compared to knee surgery) and I didn't have to stay in the hospital. I have three incisions across my abdomen that should not even be noticeable by next summer. Thank heaven for modern medicine and advances in surgical technique!

Andrew is 1!
Last weekend we had an incident free birthday party for Andrew, the only violence involved the bishops kids fighting over the Wii! Andrew had a great time eating his birthday dinner and cake!
We've had a busy weekend, Andrew decided to walk, go backwards down the stairs, and get a new tooth, all in the space of a few days. And Eddie, David and I spoke in sacrament this morning!
We're still sorting and packing, trying to decide what is coming with us and what is staying! We're leasing a house about a mile away from Amber and Matt, and we're getting excited to move! If anyone has any extra furniture, we'd be glad to have it!

Provo Falls Outing
Labor Day was such a perfect, beautiful day, that we decided to take a little drive up to Provo Falls for a picnic. Most of you have been there haven't you? It's a really cool waterfall area with tons of rocks that are easy to scale up and down, and it's just a really nice place to go mess around. We wanted to see if we could get a good family picture (something for our Christmas cards perhaps...) so we picked up some KFC, some picnic blankets, and some Cokes (of COURSE) and drove up into the Uintas. We had a really nice time- Jack couldn't get enough of the water- despite it being mind-numbingly cold, and spent most of his time crawling around in it. Porter (who just had his tonsils out on Friday) was being a little whiney toad until John took him to climb around on the rocks which cured his ill spirits. Seth was content to sit and eat mashed potatoes with me and enjoy the scenery. It was a good time for all the adults
First Day of School
The first day of school went well for both of the kids. It was one of the four days that it rains in Vegas, actually we had flash floods, so it was very wet for Kate's entrance into the 3rd grade. Parker is attending afternnon kindergarten and most everything had dried up by then. Parker took the bus the second day to school and was so excited he didn't even wait for me to get the camera out and take a picture of him getting in...I all I got were his legs flying into the bus. He LOVES the bus. I always thought Mom was so rude when she would say how happy she was that school was back in, now I understnad why. Maggie and I have three hours of quiet in the afternoon and it is bliss.
