Yes, she is! Halle- Halley, or however they are planning on spelling it, was born yesterday evening- congratulations Bridget!- and weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. She and Emily are both doing well despite what sounds like absurdly primitive circumstances. Emily told my mom that all of her nurses are male and that it was a little disconcerting to have a man try to explain how to appropriately use the hospital feminine products (I'm sure she could've figured it out by herself...). There is no nursery, and for those of us who enjoy our hospital stay if for no other reason than that it's GREAT to have someone tend to your newborn while you tend to healing from intense sleep-deprivation- it has kind of stunk. Not to mention the diaper changes you don't have to do, and the peace of mind that comes from having someone else fawn over your child...all while you sleep...Anyway, she's surviving. Her epidural only worked on half of her body, so she was a little ticked about that too- needless to say, she's looking forward to going home. She tried to get checked out today, but they wouldn't let her. Anyway, hopefully Greg will post something- or Emily will when she gets home on Saturday.
thanks for the update, marci! only male nurses? no nursery? that is the weirdest thing i have ever heard. poor emily - hopefully she will get to go home soon.
I haven't had nurseries with Parker or Maggie. Parker only went to the nursery when they stole hime and put him in the NICU. They don't take your babies here ever. And if you get them to they take them to the nurses station and pass them around. You are spoiled in Utah.
Marvin and Margaret Miller are the best grandparents on planet earth. Don't believe it? Ask any of their grandkids or any of their grandkids friends (all of which will tell you they have wanted to be adopted into the family at some point in their life). This blog is comprised of their clan and is a reference to their house in Utah known as Miller's Outpost, where the family has spent countless family occasions and consumed countless calories in grandma's amazing food.
